(DailyDig.com) – The actress who voiced the Disney villain Ursula in the animated feature “The Little Mermaid,” Pat Carroll, has passed away. Her two daughters Tara and Kerry Karsian and one of her representatives confirmed her death. The vocalist and performer was 95 years old.

Born on May 5, 1927, in Louisiana, Carroll came into this world destined for a legendary life. Though she began participating in local productions at a young age Carroll wouldn’t start her acting career until two decades later, when she earned a role in the 1947 movie “Hometown Girl.” From there the actress would add to her resumé by starring in several TV shows through the 1950s and the 1970s.

Carroll earned an Emmy for her performance on “Caesar’s Hour” in 1957. Her spot on the show merited another nomination in 1958. Later, in the early 1960s, the actress starred on “The Danny Thomas Show” as Bunny Halper for three seasons. The film star also had supporting roles in “The Mary Tyler Show” in 1971 and “Laverne & Shirley” in 1976.

What’s likely Carroll’s most renowned role, Ursula, didn’t come until 1989. According to Deadline, the “The Little Mermaid” character was one of her favorites throughout her time making movies and TV shows. But that wasn’t the actress’s only Disney credit. She also played Prunella in a live musical version of “Cinderella.” The talented celebrity certainly had a successful career in show business, and those who know her work will be certain to miss her.
