(DailyDig.com) – In Houston, Texas, a total of three banks have been robbed since July 5 by the same culprit, who has not yet been captured, publicly identified, or named.
The police need the public’s assistance in locating the thief. He is a male who went on a ten-day robbery spree while disguised as a lady. According to a press statement issued by the FBI on July 13, he had been threatening bank tellers with sticky notes.
The Violent Crime Task Force of the FBI has branded the perpetrator the ‘Sticky Note Bandit’ and is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to his arrest.
The suspect was photographed by security cameras in a number of bank lobbies, and the agency tweeted the images. He sported a black wig, a blue medical or surgical mask, women’s ballerina shoes, a green sweater designed for ladies, black sunglasses, a black skirt, and a black pocketbook. The FBI said he was a black man, around 5 feet 8 inches tall, and of slender to moderate build.
The first robbery, which took place on July 5 in Houston at 1:30 p.m. at a Hancock Whitney Bank, had a suspect dressed as a woman who presented a menacing sticky note to the teller before making off with an undetermined quantity of money, according to the FBI. Nobody was hurt.
The FBI said that on July 11 at 12:09 p.m., he attacked again at a Wells Fargo Bank in Houston. After the teller shut themselves in the back room, the suspect didn’t make off with any cash. The suspect waited for a while in the bank’s foyer before leaving.
On July 13 at around 3:30 p.m., the same suspect handed an alarming sticky note to the teller at a third Houston branch of Wells Fargo. The bank robber made off on foot after receiving an unknown sum of money.
All of the robberies occurred without any injuries, and the information on the sticky notes has not been made public.
