Kentucky Mother Faces Murder Charges in Tragic Child Deaths

(DailyDig.com) – A Kentucky woman has been arrested and incarcerated on charges of double homicide, as she is accused of fatally shooting her two children inside their residence on November 8.

According to the arrest report, a vigilant neighbor, who thought something was wrong, saw two toddlers in their home’s bedroom at 11 am, visibly coated in blood, prompting her to contact the police. A firearm was discovered resting near the children.

Deputies from the Bullitt County Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to a gunshot incident reported at Tiffanie Lucas’ residence in Shepherdsville. Upon reaching the residence, law enforcement authorities reported finding two youngsters with gunshot injuries.

The youngsters were transported by EMS to Norton’s Children’s Hospital in the city of Louisville in a critical state. They were promptly taken into the operating room, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries prior to 3 pm.

Officials have reported that Lucas, aged 32, and the two children’s mother, was arrested, accused, and taken into custody at the Detention Center in Bullitt County at around 3:45 pm on two counts of murder.

A different neighbor expressed astonishment upon learning the news of the murders, since she had just seen the children at the bus stop days prior. She expressed her strong aversion to the idea of any child being harmed or maybe losing their life in such a manner, and she found it very distressing.

The police withheld the identities of the youngsters; however, they disclosed that the children were six and nine years old. The investigators refrained from disclosing any more information about the case.

According to a news statement by Walt Sholar, the Bullitt County Sheriff, the investigation is now in its first phases. Further details may be disclosed as additional information becomes accessible. Currently, it seems that all individuals involved in this event have been identified, and there is no danger to the community.
