(DailyDig.com) – Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, a co-star in “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” and the oldest daughter of Mama June Shannon, a reality TV personality, died on December 9 due to Stage 4 adrenal cancer. Her age was 29.
Shannon shared a picture of the whole family on Instagram on December 10th, announcing the news.
Shannon declared that Anna wasn’t with them any longer in her post. She died quietly at Shannon’s house. She fought valiantly for ten months, but she died with her loved ones in attendance. In the next few days, they will provide everyone with further information. Shannon went on to say that they appreciate all of their supporters and asked for prayers and well wishes for the family throughout this trying time.
Cardwell debuted on TLC’s “Toddlers and Tiaras” with her half-sister, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, and her mother. Later on, she was in the family’s show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” which debuted in 2012.
Cardwell was diagnosed with adrenal cancer at stage 4 in her lung, kidney, and liver in March 2023, according to news reports. Her mother verified the grave diagnosis four months after the diagnosis.
For a few years, Cardwell and Shannon’s relationship has been openly strained. Cardwell moved from Shannon’s home to reside with her grandmother in 2003, before the family’s TV series. Since then, the family has reunited, as shown by the attendance of all four of Shannon’s daughters, including Jessica “Chubbs” Shannon and Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird, at her marriage to Justin Stroud in February.
Cardwell’s physicians allegedly ran a battery of tests due to her complaint of stomach discomfort and found carcinoma in her lung, kidney, and liver. In January, doctors made the stage 4 adrenal cancer diagnosis while she was undergoing therapy.
She had a wonderful family occasion in May when her daughter Kaitlyn celebrated her graduation from elementary school.
Cardwell left behind two children, 7-year-old Kylee Madison and 10-year-old Kaitlyn Elizabeth.
