(DailyDig.com) – Following his conviction on two charges each of assault and harassment related to an allegation of an attack on Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend, Marvel actor Jonathan Majors, was let go by Disney.
According to an insider, the Disney-owned company decided to let the actor go who portrayed the villain Kang the Conqueror in “Loki” for its first two seasons. He also appeared in the film “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” in February 2023. Despite Major’s original casting for the upcoming Marvel films, he will not be returning for those roles.
The announcement followed Majors’ guilty verdict on the charges against him following a trial of almost two weeks. During the trial, Grace Jabbari, his ex-girlfriend he met in 2021, told the jury of six individuals that he had gotten abusive physically toward her throughout an argument in March 2023. Majors had pleaded not guilty to all four charges.
After Majors called 911 upon discovering Jabbari lying on the floor of their apartment, New York took the case to trial. When the police discovered injuries to her, they subsequently imprisoned him.
They broke into an altercation in a private vehicle’s backseat hours earlier, according to Jabbari, when she discovered a text message from another lady on the actor’s phone. According to allegations in the media, she said that she had taken the phone, and when he attempted to reclaim it, he reportedly seized her by the arm and right hand, proceeded to twist her arm, and struck her on the head.
Given the nature of Major’s troubles, Marvel isn’t the first company to fire him. Following his March arrest, both his public relations firm, The Lede Company, and the talent agency that represented him, 360 Entertainment, severed ties with him. The media has reported that he was also let go from his position in the Texas Rangers’ Major League Baseball team’s “The Man in My Basement” advertising campaign.
A probable sentencing date for Majors is February 2024, and he faces a maximum sentence of one year in prison.
