(DailyDig.com) – David Gail, who played a fiancé, Stuart Carson, to Shannen Doherty’s character, Brenda Walsh, on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” has died. The man was 58.
There was no information on the cause of death.
Katie Colmenares, Gail’s sister, broke the news of his death on January 20. As her closest friend and wingman, she claims he has been there for her almost every day. She will always remember him with love. She went on to explain that she would miss him constantly.
His colleagues from the “General Hospital” spinoff drama “Port Charles,” where he was most famous for playing Dr. Joe Scanlon, grieved Gail’s death. Peter Ferriero, producer and director, said Gail was a wonderful human being and an asset to any group.
A podcaster named Ferriero, who specializes in rewatches of “Beverly Hills, 90210,” aired previous episodes in which Gail appeared. In remembrance of David Gail, he recapped some of the anecdotes he had given on the program.
Ferriero said on his social media stories that the fans would be informed of more facts when they were available from Gail’s family. Additionally, he wants to make sure his followers are aware of what has transpired, so he discloses whatever he has been informed of.
Gail originated from Tampa, Florida, and one of his popular breakout roles was as Doherty’s fiancé on the adolescent drama “Beverly Hills, 90210,” which lasted eight episodes. Once Michael Dietz stepped down from the character of Dr. Joe Scanlon in the show “Port Charles” in 1999; Gail became the second actor to portray the part.
In addition to his role as Dean Collins in “Savannah,” a Warner Bros. 1996 TV drama, Gail appeared in other early 1990s series, including “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” “Growing Pains,” “ER,” “Murder, She Wrote,” and “JAG,” as listed on his IMDb website.
Between his film roles, Gail had been in “The Belly of the Beast,” “Some Girl,” “Perfect Opposites,” and “Bending All the Rules.”
“Blacksad: Under the Skin,” the 2018 video game, was Gail’s last voice-acting performance.
