Singer Rose-Marie Kane Passes Away Aged 68

(DailyDig.com) – Rose-Marie Kane, the Northern Ireland entertainer and singer, has died at 68.

She died suddenly, according to Robin Elliott, in Blackpool. A Facebook post on her page confirmed her death, announcing that, with great sadness and heavy hearts, their beloved Rose-Marie had died in her second home.

She grew up near Newry on a farm, and of six siblings, she was the oldest.

Elliott, a radio presenter in Belfast and a TV presenter, was good friends with Kane. He announced her death, saying that he was completely devastated and would miss her friendship very much. He remembered the times they worked together on several projects in 2019. He said that he was going to Blackpool in June to be with her while she performed at the North Pier and then did a Q&A session with the audience.

He said that she was looking forward to it so much. She was in the midst of recording her 20th album and her upcoming TV documentary about herself. She seemed strong and healthy, and her sudden death was such a shock.

Janey Kirk, a singer and songwriter, said she was shocked and saddened at hearing of her death. They had just talked the week before and knew she wasn’t feeling well, but hearing of her death was completely unexpected. She wants to remember their laughs together.

In the 1990s, Kane had a BBC radio show in Bedfordshire. Mike Gibbons, the former Bedfordshire radio station editor, said that she was such a joy when she presented as a guest for the Irish country music fans in Luton, Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire. Everyone loved her, and she performed her presenter position with great instinct.

Kane was a popular singer, having sold out several times at the London Palladium. She also appeared on the television show “The Royal Variety Show.” She released 19 albums and was a former judge on the talent show “Go For It” on the BBC.

She appeared on shows such as “Shooting Stars,” “Big Brother’s Little Brother,” and “Doctors.”
