King Charles Reacts to Trump Assassination Attempt

(DailyDig.com) – The British King, Charles III, sent a letter to former President Trump in reaction to his attempted assassination on July 13. The UK’s embassy in DC delivered the letter on July 14.

The letter was private, and the palace did not comment on the contents of the king’s message.

According to sources who made a comment to British news agencies, the king’s letter was in line with the sentiments of Keir Starmer, the new Prime Minister of Britain. Starmer expressed his dismay at the horrific incident that occurred during the rally with President Trump. He stated that he sends his best wishes to Trump. He added that any political violence is not acceptable, and he wishes the best for all the victims of the attack.

The would-be assassin, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was lying on the roof of a building nearly 130 yards from the Butler Farm Show stage, where Trump was shot in the ear as he was speaking. The shooting claimed the life of 50-year-old Corey Comperatore, a former firefighter, and injured two other rallygoers, James Copenhaver and David Dutch.

The Secret Service returned fire, killing Crooks.

In an interview with Trump, he spoke of the moment. He stated that Crooks’s first shot would have killed him had he not moved his head slightly. As it happened, the bullet only pierced a small area of his ear, tearing it off and sprayed his cheek and forehead with blood. The hospital’s doctor said it was a miracle.

Speaking with the news media, Trump stated that he wasn’t supposed to have survived and that the intention was that he would now be dead. Instead of the intended assassination, he stood up, raised his fist, and yelled to his followers, “Fight!”

King Charles has dedicated his time to resuming his duties following his earlier cancer diagnosis. Following his break, he has been active in fulfilling his duties as king, giving speeches, and attending royal ceremonies. He is also involved with his governmental duties.
