(DailyDig.com) – This season of “The Great British Bake Off” will see the introduction of a brand new co-host in the form of Alison Hammond. She will take over for Matt Lucas, and she and Noel Fielding will be the hosts of the show.
In addition to Fielding, regular judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood will be present throughout Hammond’s time on the panel.
Hammond, a well-known face on television in the United Kingdom, made the announcement on March 17 that she would succeed comedian Matt Lucas as the co-host of “The Great British Bake Off,” the name given to the series overseas.
It was reported that Hammond, a 48-year-old celebrity, would be occupying the co-hosting responsibilities for the series on Channel 4, which airs the program in the United Kingdom. This news broke after three months when humorist and “Bridesmaids” actor Lucas revealed that he would be leaving the program after it had aired with him as co-host for three seasons.
Hammond said that she could hardly contain her excitement any more. The bakers from this year are expected to be chatting with her soon. She considers it to be an incredible privilege to be returning to the tent. She just cannot wait for the adventure to begin.
With actor Richard E. Grant, she recently co-hosted this year’s BAFTA Awards Show. She is also well known as the co-host of the well-liked U.K. morning program “This Morning.” Her viral interviews with celebrities like Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford have gained a large following.
The mother of one child is familiar with the tent, having made an appearance there in the year 2020 as a baker for the series’ star special for the charity “Stand Up To Cancer.”
Moreover, Channel 4 has announced that production of the 14th season of the program, which can be seen in the United States on Netflix, will begin this spring. In the latter part of this year, the series will be shown.
