(DailyDig.com) – Billie Eilish’s sombre score song for “Barbie” brought emotion to the film, and now she’s discussing the melancholy that inspired it.
On November 14, “What Was I Made For?” singer Eilish recently complained that being recognized as a woman in the media’s eye is a constant fight, arguing that males are not subjected to the same level of scrutiny. She stated that, as a woman, she is simply in such a fight, eternally. Being a young lady in the spotlight is very difficult, she claimed.
Eilish went on a spirited diatribe about the double standard she saw in the media when she was sixteen and how she was sexualized. She shot to fame when she was thirteen with the popular hit “Ocean Eyes” and has continued to deal with the complications of adolescence in the public eye ever since. She realized that living as a woman is difficult in general, since she works in a field where criticism is constant.
Women who wear anything, even something somewhat exposing, are automatically assumed to want such attention, according to Eilish. She finally came clean about the fact that she is, at times, a sexual creature. She asks that everyone just accept her without judgment.
Eilish went on to claim that no one ever discusses the physical appearance of men. It’s fine if a guy has some muscle mass, and it’s OK if they don’t, said the singer. Eilish said no one cares if a man’s frame is very thin, if he has a dad-like body, or if he’s chubby. Women don’t mind, and women don’t have any complaints about it, in her view. Eilish continued praising women at the expense of men, claiming women are pleasant; therefore, that’s why they tend to be preferred.
While discussing the link between the meat business and other “systemic” problems like racism, Eilish also pushed her mother’s nonprofit organization, “Support + Feed,” a plant-based charity, during the interview. She emphasized what she sees as the reality of food inequities and systemic racism. The pop songstress says society is actively attempting to eliminate the young people and nobody seems to notice.
