(DailyDig.com) – Lucy-Bleu Knight, the stepdaughter of Slash, the guitarist for Guns N’ Roses, died on July 19 in Los Angeles, California. She was 25 years old.
The announcement came from Slash on July 21 in a social media post saying that Knight was a loving, charming, and sweet soul. She was extremely talented and an ardent dreamer.
Slash, along with Knight’s mother, Meegan Hodges, stated that Knight died peacefully. They asked that everyone respect their need for privacy while they grieve over their overwhelming loss. They also requested that people limit their online opinions on her death.
Knight was Hodges and her ex, Mark Knight’s, daughter. Slash and Hodges’ relationship was on and off again from 1989 to 2015, when they got back together.
Slash announced the cancelation of his four “S.E.R.P.E.N.T.” tour shows early on July 20. On his social media page, he stated that unexpected circumstances arose that required the show’s cancelations. He expressed his apologies to his fans, expressing his love for them, and announced that the tour would resume with the Toronto, Canada, show on July 28.
He also assured his fans that the locations where they purchased their tickets would provide a refund for the canceled shows. The canceled shows included the July 22 show in Cincinnati, Ohio; the July 24 show in Interlochen, Michigan; the July 25 show in Windsor, Ontario; and the July 27 show in Windsor, Ontario.
Knight’s social media site published a likely pre-scheduled post following Slash’s announcement of her death. The message seemed eerie, especially in light of Knight’s death the previous day. The message was an apology for her selfish behavior, which may have made someone feel controlled or manipulated by her. She explained that she dealt with real problems by showing little concern for others and missing opportunities to help people.
She ended her message by stating that she hopes to be able to change and become a more understanding person.
One fan commented on Knight’s post, stating that people should respect her family while they grieve.
