(DailyDig.com) – A demonstrator involved in the January 6 attack on Capitol Hill pleaded guilty to crimes associated with her role in the incident on September 28. While she will encounter some form of punishment over the matter, one judge fails to understand why she isn’t facing more serious charges after threatening the life of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Dawn Bancroft pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of illegally demonstrating with her friend Diana Santos-Smith. The maximum punishment for this crime is six months in jail.

Judge Sullivan referred to Bancroft’s comments during a video she captured while leaving the capitol. In the recording, she claims the group hoped to find Pelosi so they could “shoot her in the friggin’ brain.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Murphy defended Bancroft. He dismisses the idea that she poses any threat, pointing out that she made the comments after leaving the building. Ergo, the courts have no reason to believe Bancroft intended to take action.
Murphy also reminded the court that Bancroft only shared her recording with family and friends. She refrained from posting it online or in any other public space. In fact, it only came to light because one of the individuals she privately shared it with reported her to the FBI.
